Fear
In the woods dead of night
withered trees sucked of life
nowhere to climb, and you lost your hunting knife.
branches snap
shadows shift
it runs by, just passed your line of sight.
A mass of black, and scarlet eyes
it ate at you, from the inside.
Nature
A festival of sex and death
snake heads and spider legs
mud mixed with blood
teeth ripping flesh
Nature in its most naked form:
Born to a war of tooth and claw
our progenitor, and eliminator
programed to proliferate,
create,
and manipulate.
And now we can destroy.
Attempt
I want to bring about the profound.
I want to be the deep black ink in a storm cloud.
Stained like night before there was light.
I want to speak primordial and true.
Etch the minds of first conscious life,
A break through.
I’m obsessed with shadows and the night
because it was in the darkness,
when we first saw light.
Emotion Junkie
My dear soul
you’ve grown so bleak
when did you start bleeding ink?
I’ve hurt you so
for selfish reasons.
I tell myself
it’s to help you grow,
but now I know,
it’s to help me cope.
love or hate
fear or joy
they’re all the same.
they fill a void.
I’m addicted
to the emotions you elicit.
My dear soul
grow more bleak
so that I may weep, tears of ink.
Let This Shot be the Last
There’s something hidden deep beneath
reflecting just behind my eye
it’s sin, it’s vice, it’s a good time
its got its hooks in me
like a puppet, I let it play my strings
just one drink. . . but it never ends
its so clear to me
what I’m chasing isn’t a numbing feeling.
its not knowing if I’m still breathing.
Flame
What do you say
if we set fire to my pyre?
Will it speak of hellfire, torment, and woe?
Or will new life arise, spark’n ignite.
revitalized with new hope.
Maybe both. . .
I just want to know.
So what do you say?
After all, you’re the Flame.
Days in Trinity
Take your worst, and make it right.
Turn your hell, into divine.
There’s no rest, beyond this line.
And I’ll find you on the rise.
These words, by your side:
“I’ve died and came back to life,
now I live, undenied.”
